Freshmen and Sophomore Lions Earn Third-Place Finish at CHSAA Intersectional Championship

On Saturday, May 9, Bishop Loughlin’s Track & Field Lions competed at the CHSAA Freshmen/Sophomore Intersectional Championship at Icahn Stadium, delivering an outstanding performance.

Our freshman and sophomore athletes brought home a third-place team finish, along with 15 medals—including three gold, eight silver, and four bronze medals—while recording an impressive 14 personal-best performances.

Freshmen Lions

  • Amare Wickham earned 2nd place in the freshmen 400-meter hurdles.

Sophomore Lions

  • Caiden Romeo recorded a personal-best time in the 400 meters.
  • Jackson Babb achieved personal-best times in both the 100 meters and 200 meters.

Freshmen Lady Lions

The freshmen girls delivered an exceptional showing:

  • Kiersten Haggins placed 3rd in the 200 meters with a personal-best time.
  • Kimora De Windt captured 1st place in the shot put with a personal-best throw and 3rd place in the javelin, also with a personal best.
  • Promise Terry earned 1st place in the high jump and 2nd place in the 100-meter dash, both personal-best performances.
  • The freshmen girls 4x100 relay team of Kiersten Haggins, Promise Terry, Kimora De Windt, and Denver Sledge secured 2nd place.

Despite competing with only four athletes, the Freshmen Lady Lions accumulated 24 team points, earning an impressive 3rd-place overall finish out of 28 teams.

Sophomore Lady Lions

  • Zanai Millington posted personal-best times in both the 200 meters and 400 meters.
  • Lahzai Robinson placed 3rd in the 100-meter hurdles, 4th in the long jump, and 6th in the 100-meter dash, recording a personal-best time.
  • Morgan Bass had a standout day, winning 1st place in the 100-meter dash, 1st place in the long jump with a personal-best jump, and 2nd place in the 200 meters with a personal-best time.
